BINGO! Baltimore woman wins $50,000

Nursing home employee hits the jackpot this past holiday weekend

Bingo Times 10For two days, a Baltimore County woman had a lucky scratch-off ticket in her purse and didn’t know it.  During the recent Thanksgiving holiday weekend, she purchased four scratch-off tickets, one of which was the Bingo Times 10 scratch-off.  Instead of scratching the entire ticket, she scratched only the barcode portion and checked it at a local retailer.  The message advised to visit Lottery headquarters and the experienced player knew it was more than $500.   She immediately put the ticket in her purse and forgot about it for a few days. Then while she was getting her car worked on, she scratched the rest of the ticket and discovered that she had won a $50,000 cash prize.  “I screamed in silence when I found out how much I won,” she said.  After discovering her fortune, she went to Lottery headquarters to claim her prize.

The 37-year-old nursing home worker did not tell anyone at the time but plans on immediately telling her mother of her newfound fortune.  She also plans on sharing the news with other family members, do some holiday shopping and pay for some work on her home.  The winning ticket was purchased at Woodmoor Shell on 7001 Liberty Road in Baltimore.

Baltimore County Tow Truck Driver Hauls Off Lottery Prize

Wins $50,000 Prize Playing Super Bonus Crossword Game

Michael Hamilton - Super Bonus CrosswordMichael Hamilton, of Windsor Mill, got his holiday season started with a bang last week, with a $50,000 win.  The 27-year-old truck driver and fan of Maryland Lottery instant games stopped by Lottery Headquarters to pick up the top prize he won playing the Super Bonus Crossword scratch-off game.

Michael picked out the winner on Tuesday night at the 7-11 at 7410 Windsor Mill Road in Baltimore on his way home from work.  He chose the ticket after having had luck with it in recent weeks.  “I bought two, one for me and one for my wife,” Michael told officials.  “We scratched them together and I knew right away that I’d won.”  He just wasn’t sure as to how much he’d won, “As I kept seeing more words, we got more and more excited.”

There was lots of celebrating but little sleep in the Hamilton household that night.  It took them a while to believe it was true and then to share the news with friends and family.  “No one believed us, everyone thought we were joking.”  Michael and his wife plan to make this Christmas especially memorable for their family.  “We’re going to share this happiness with everyone we love.”

Thanksgiving Surprise for Forestville Man

$50,000 Bonus Match 5 Win with Taxes Paid

Bonus Match 5Working on Thanksgiving Day is a sacrifice that millions of Americans make every year (another thing for the rest of us to be thankful for), but for a Forestville man, being away from home on that special day was made a bit easier by a $50,000 win.  A quick Lottery purchase on the way to work and a quick look at the winning numbers online made Thanksgiving 2010 a memorable one.

Today’s winner, a concierge at a Washington, D.C. hotel, is a big Bonus Match 5 fan, playing several times a week.  On Thanksgiving morning he stopped by Lee’s Minimarket at 5400 Marlboro Pike in District Heights to get his ticket on the way to work.  The holiday was a busy time at the hotel and his work kept him occupied well into the evening.  He did find time, however, to check the winning Bonus Match 5 numbers on the Lottery’s webpage.  As number after number matched his ticket, the winner said, “I absolutely could not believe my eyes.”

He called home with the news but still had a few hours on his shift.  The time, he tells us, seemed to drag a bit as he looked forward to getting home to celebrate the holiday and the big win with his family.  The $50,000 win, taxes-paid due to a special promotion which was drawing to a close, will help with school bills and making this Christmas extra special for his daughter.

I LIVED THE FANTASY – JOHN CLARK

John Clark - Ravens Cash FantasyWell, what can I say. I am one of those people that never win anything, but thought I would give Ravens Cash Fantasy a try. I can tell you that they do give out the tickets. I won tickets for the Ravens vs. Bills game.

This was my first time to see the Ravens play in Baltimore. The seats were very good at around the 20-yard line on the visiting teams side of the field. A parking pass was included and the access in and out of the stadium was easy to navigate.

I must admit that the atmosphere was very good as about 99% of the people were in their purple and black and were into the game. It was refreshing to see such support of the home town team.

I myself am a native of Washington, DC and have been a fan of the “other team” down I-95. That’s the way it is and will always be that way. But I will root for the Ravens as my AFC favorites.

Overall the weather was good that day and the fans were fantastic. It was very enjoyable. Thank you Maryland Lottery.

John won two (2) club level tickets to see the Ravens vs. Bills on October 24.
