Lightening Strikes Twice at Cumberland Store

Sells Second $250,000 Mega Millions Prize in Less Than a Year

Mega MillionsFor the second time in just seven months, Lottery officials visited Jolly Rogers Discount Liquors in Cumberland delivering some good news.  Last January, Carlson and Ethel Lewis of Ellerslie, claimed a $250,000 second-tier Mega Millions prize.  The luck continued last week when the same store sold another $250,000 winning ticket for this past Friday’s drawing.

“Selling big winners definitely helps sales at the store,” said owner Roger Robinette.  “I’ve owned this store since 1984 and to have all of this happen in one year is just amazing.”

Friday night’s drawing also produced another second-tier winning ticket purchased at Bay Bridge Liquor Mart in Annapolis.  To win the $250,000 prize, players must match all five white balls, only missing the Mega Ball.  Friday night’s winning numbers were 7, 13, 30, 33 54 and Mega Ball 30.

Both tickets from last week’s drawing remain unclaimed.  Winners have 182 days, from the date of the drawing, to claim the prize at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.  Since nobody hit the jackpot, Tuesday night’s Mega Millions drawing will be worth $64 million.
