Persistence Pays Off for Baltimore Woman

Wins $30,000 on Tripling Star Crossword Scratch-Off

Tripling Star CrosswordA $30,000 scratch-off winner’s good luck carried her over several speed bumps Friday on her way to big winnings. First, she had to convince her boyfriend to go find her a Tripling Star Crossword ticket. “You always get those crossword scratch-offs,” he said. “But, you never win on them.” The winner finally convinced him to get the ticket for her, and she scratched it right there in the car. The 37-year-old didn’t know she was holding a $30,000 winner until her suspicion brought her to a Lottery retailer later that evening.  That’s when she found out the good news.

The winner, a mother-of-four and a correctional officer for 11 years, hugged and kissed her boyfriend before calling her mother with the good news. The Tripling Star Crossword ticket brought the frequent Lottery player her first big win. She plans to use her winnings to pay bills and possibly get a car, as well as to play more Lottery games.

The winning ticket was purchased at East Bexx Liquors, located at 600 N Charles Street in Baltimore.
