Powerball Climbs to $260 Million for Tomorrow
The Lottery’s Powerball game continues to grab headlines in Maryland as its jackpot steadily climbs toward the rarely-visited $300 million mark. Wednesday night’s $260 million jackpot is the largest available in the country.
Since its January 31st introduction, the popular multi-state game has delivered several significant cash prizes to Marylanders, but has not yet produced a local jackpot winner. “We’ve come close. A few of our players have missed the jackpot by only one number,” reported Lottery Communications Director Carole Everett. As for the $260 million: “We’re certainly hoping one of our players takes home the big jackpot.”
The Powerball drawing is held in Orlando, Florida and can be seen locally on Wednesday and Saturday evenings at 11:22 pm on WBAL-TV, Channel 11. The multi-state game is played in 41 states, Washington D.C. and the US Virgin Islands.
