  1. Why not have PowerBall on different days like, Monday and Thursday? That way we have a chance 6 days a week to win a million or more?

  2. I agree – we need megaplier for the Mega Millions. The Powerball has the Powerplay which is the same thing. Why not have Megaplier for Mega Millions?

  3. Curious….why does it seem that hardly anyone wins the big lotteries in Howard County? I play all the time and it seems we get the little hits here and there!!! Can you do some kind of statistical investigation and tell me if I am jst imagining this…..(:0

    • Dee: The geographic locations of our winners are random. There is no way to predict where the winners will be. However, research tells us that more winners come from areas of the State in which more people are playing. Please take a look at our press releases from 2009 at mdlottery.com. There you’ll see that we have winners from all over the State.

Prizes are distributed randomly throughout the total game and there is no pattern as to where they will occur. We do have parameters and guidelines that are set, depending on the price point, so that non-winning tickets do not exceed a certain number in succession. It is simply the luck of the draw as to which scratch-offs are sent to each retail locations.

We also just had a man from Ellicott City strike it big with our Gold Bar Bonus scratch-off. You can read his story here.

Thanks again for your inquiry. We appreciate hearing from our players.

  4. I play some times when I am in DC for some thing. I don’t know why we need both. With the times it will be more money people that do not have it will be spending in hope of. We need to do some thing better with the profit the sport, some thing like education.

  5. IT IS ABOUT TIME WE HAVE POWERBALL.
NOW I CAN SPEND MY MONEY IN MARYLAND.

  6. Can the Maryland Lottery please get Megaplier for the Mega Millions Game? The DC Lottery and other lotteries across the country will have Megaplier. I think this will encourage more players to buy tickets and will definitely reward those that didn’t hit the jackpot.
    Thank you

  7. You gotta play to win and I demand I will wn win win.

  8. Glad to see Powerball coming to Maryland. Are you getting rid of the regular Maryland Lottery? I hope not.I enjoy playing the MD Lottery and Mega Millions.

  9. Glad to see Maryland bring Powerball closer to home. I hope it isn’t intended to replace Mega Millions. I prefer to play both. I wonder if subscriptions will be offered?
