No one hit Tuesday night’s Mega Millions jackpot which now raises the stakes to $100 million for Friday night’s drawing. Even though there were no jackpot winners, the Mega Millions game continues to produce lots of second and third-tier winners.
So far this year, there have been 32 second-tier $250,000 winners and 204 third-tier $10,000 winners. “People tend to focus on the “big” prize,” said Lottery Communications Director Carole Everett. “We like to remind everyone that they can win lots of other great prizes playing Mega Millions.”
Lottery officials encourage players to always check their tickets. Currently there are three $250,000 Mega Millions prizes remaining unclaimed. They include:
Royal Farms in Elkton
Cheese & Wine Shop in Silver Spring
Howard House Tavern in Elkton
The multi-state game is played in 11 other states, including Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Virginia, Washington, Texas and California. Mega Millions drawings can be seen on Tuesday and Friday evenings at 11:22 p.m. on WBAL-TV, Channel 11.
