Salisbury University Student from Severn Wins Big Lottery Prize

Alex Kursch - Big 8 BingoTwo weeks ago, Alex Kursch’s plans of playing in a rugby match were squashed when he began having car trouble.  Instead of engaging in the game, the Salisbury University Sophomore decided to go home to Severn that weekend to have his car checked. He’s now thankful that he did, since that’s when he purchased a $40,000 winning Big 8 Bingo scratch-off.

“Everyone in my house checked the ticket over and over again,” said the 19-year-old Business Administration major.  The occasional Lottery player, Alex came to Lottery Headquarters with his mother to claim his prize.  He told Lottery officials that he also likes the Ravens Cash Fantasy scratch-off and hopes to win the promotion’s Season Tickets for Life.

With his Big 8 Bingo winnings, Alex plans to first pay off his college tuition.  “I also want to give my mom some money,” he said. “And, I’ll have a little fun with some of the rest.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Dash-In, located at 7845 Quarterfield  Rd. in Severn.
