It was just a little over a year ago that the married father-of-three visited Lottery Headquarters. On October 24, 2008 he claimed a $50,000 scratch-off win. This time around, he won $50,000 playing Bonus Match 5. “I couldn’t believe it,” he said. “I looked at the numbers and thought, this doesn’t happen twice in a lifetime.”
The lucky winner selected all his numbers, but said that they had no particular significance. “They were off the top of my head,” he explained. “I just had a hunch.”
The winner’s wife was as surprised as he, refusing at first to believe their good fortune. Once convinced, “She was pretty happy,” said the winner.
The Montgomery County man, who works as a goldsmith, said that with the economy business has been slow and the win came at a very advantageous time. His previous windfall was divided between his children and savings. This time, he intends to save all of his winnings. “I would like to take a trip, but that’s in the future,” he added.
The winning ticket was purchased at Giant #310, located at 15520 Annapolis Rd. in Bowie.
