Clean Bill of Luck for Baltimore Nursing Student

Wins $100,000 Playing Blazin’ Hot Bucks Scratch-Off

Blazin' Hot BucksThe commute to work or school, something we all do just about every day, changed quickly this afternoon for a Baltimore surgical technician.  A stop for gas, a Lottery scratch-off and $100,000 combined to make today’s trip a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The lucky player was driving to nursing school early Monday afternoon when she realized that the car needed gas.  She passed the time waiting for the tank to fill playing a Blazin’ Hot Bucks instant ticket.  “I noticed several matching numbers so I scratched the prize area,” she explained to officials.  “I saw $10,000 and couldn’t believe it.  Then I saw more matching numbers.”  She kept scratching and saw another $10,000, and then another.  “When I finished it added up to $100,000.  If the car hadn’t been there to lean on I would have collapsed.”

Taking care of tuition bills and paying student loans are in the immediate future for the 45-year-old future nurse.  After that, she expects a memorable Thanksgiving and Christmas for her husband and the rest of her family.  A little farther down the road the fun starts, she told officials.  “I graduate in March and have been thinking about taking a cruise.”  Today’s events will bring that dream much closer to becoming a reality.

The winning Blazin’ Hot Bucks scratch-off was purchased from the Royal Farm convenience store, located at 6435 Pulaski Hwy. in Baltimore.
