Wins $10,000 Top Prize on Celebration Scratch-off
Gertrudis Cortez looked very familiar to Lottery officials and the name certainly rang a bell. That’s because it was less than two months ago that the 51-year-old visited Lottery Headquarters to claim another big win. At the end of July, he won $30,000 playing the American Classics scratch-off.
This time around it was the Celebration ticket that was reason to celebrate. Gertrudis actually purchased the winning ticket over two weeks ago but his busy work schedule prevented him from claiming his prize.
The El Salvador native expressed his delight at repeating his good luck. “I can’t believe it,” said Gertrudis. “Two times, that was a surprise for me.” The father-of-four intends to help his family with his winnings and perhaps visit his homeland.
The winning ticket was purchased at Langley Shop, 8001 New Hampshire Ave. in Hyattsville.
