A Baltimore man came to Lottery Headquarters on Monday to claim his $250,000 Mega Millions winnings. “I promised myself I’d never check the numbers at night,” the lucky winner told Lottery Officials. But on Sunday, he checked the numbers at 1:30 a.m. after picking up a friend from work.
The 62-year-old was so excited he couldn’t sleep. And at 4:30 a.m., he called his brother to share the good news. “I just couldn’t wait any longer,” he said.
The retired air plane inspector said he has been playing the Lottery every day for nearly 30 years. And although he has hit several times in the past, this is his largest win yet. He plans to share the winnings with his family and friends.
The winning ticket was purchased at Brown’s Liquors located at 2300 Edmonson Ave. in Baltimore.
