Four generations of Diggs came to Maryland Lottery headquarters Thursday afternoon to claim Mildred Diggs’ $30,000 prize. The 69-year-old Lucky Lines scratch-off winner was accompanied by her daughter, granddaughter, four-year-old great-grandson and three-year-old great-granddaughter.
Mildred said that she and her daughter share everything – they live together, eat together and play the Lottery together. It was her daughter who got her enthused about Maryland Lottery scratch-offs. Mildred and her daughter play the Lottery almost every day. Although she enjoys playing the Lottery’s Bingo-style games, she decided to buy a Lucky Lines scratch-off on Tuesday since she wanted to try something new.
Mildred, who is the mother of five, grandmother of 19 and great-grandmother of 17, intends to use her winnings to pay bills. She also plans to continue playing scratch-offs and hopes to extend her lucky streak.
The winning ticket was purchased at Orbit Beer & Wine, located at 9900 Greenbelt Road in Lanham.
