Many $250K Prizes Still Unclaimed
Lottery players are gearing up for a mega jackpot. Since last night’s Mega Millions drawing produced no top-tier winners, this Friday’s jackpot has an annuity value of $220 million, with a cash option of $143.5 million. If someone in Maryland wins, they will become the largest jackpot winner ever in this State. In June 2003, Bernadette Gietka of Baltimore County won a $183 million prize.
Since January, there have been 11 second-tier $250,000 winners and 69 third-tier $10,000 winners. The following four second-tier tickets remain unclaimed:
A ticket purchased for February 6th at Royal Farms on Joppa Rd in Baltimore
A ticket purchased for February 13th at Mars #10 on Belair Rd. in Nottingham
A ticket purchased for February 27th at 7-11 on Race Track Rd. in Bowie
A ticket purchased for April 7th at 7-11 on Davidsonville Rd. in Crofton
The multi-state Mega Millions game is played in 12 states, including Maryland, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Virginia, Washington, Texas and California. The numbers for Mega Millions can be seen on Tuesday and Friday evenings at 11:22 p.m. on WBAL-TV, Channel 11 and at 11:30 p.m. on Maryland Public Television.
