Gaithersburg Woman Claims $250K Mega Millions Prize

Four Second-Tier Prizes Remain Unclaimed

Mega MillionsCharity begins at home – and that’s especially true for a Gaithersburg woman. The 59-year-old, who is originally from India, spends most of her time helping the less fortunate. And, she expects to give a lot more to charity now that she claimed her $250,000 second-tier Mega Millions prize.

The winning ticket was purchased at Westlake Wine, Beer & Deli, located at 10442 Autopark Ave. in Bethesda. The winner, a grandmother-of-two, had been holding on to the winning Mega Millions ticket since January 6th.

She’s not the only one holding a winning ticket –four $250,000 Mega Millions tickets still remain unclaimed. Since January, there have been a total of 11 second-tier $250,000 second-tier and 53 third-tier $10,000 Mega Millions winners in Maryland. The unclaimed tickets include:

A ticket purchased for February 6th at Royal Farms on Joppa Rd in Baltimore
A ticket purchased for February 13th at Mars #10 on Belair Rd. in Nottingham
A ticket purchased for February 27th at 7-11 on Race Track Rd. in Bowie
A ticket purchased for April 7th at 7-11 on Davidsonville Rd. in Crofton
