Randallstown Man Wins $250,000 Playing Mega Millions

Mega MillionsA Baltimore County man was making a routine delivery on Friday morning and stopped to buy one Mega Millions ticket. That single purchase resulted in the single-man’s $250,000 Mega Millions win. The 59-year-old was accompanied to Lottery Headquarters by his friend who told Lottery officials, “He always watches the drawing, but he was tired so he went to bed early Friday night.” The following morning he asked the same friend to get the Mega Millions ticket out of his wallet so he could check the numbers. “When I saw that I had five numbers I couldn’t believe it, I was numb,” stated the lucky winner.

Delighted, yet still a little bit skeptical, the man took the ticket to a local eatery that Saturday morning to confirm the big win. He also had his friend call Maryland Lottery Headquarters. “I couldn’t believe it. I was in shock. I’m still in shock,” said the winner’s companion.

The winner chimed in, “I was so nervous I kept the lucky ticket in my ID holder on a lanyard around my neck. Except when I went to bed I kept it under a drawer.”

The man said that he wants to make sure he and his friend are debt free and he plans to help some other people as well. Then it’s off to Las Vegas. “My friend and I have talked about going to Vegas for ten years. Now we are finally set to go,” he said with a smile.

The winning ticket was purchased at Charlottes on Pratt Street in Baltimore City.
